Sustainability & Social Responsibility

A smarter way of doing business with our planet at the heart

Our commitment to The Circular Ecomony

At SioSystems, we don’t just deliver high performance partitions – we deliver products with purpose, designed to reduce environmental impact, maximise reuse, and generate lasting value for people, places, and the planet.

We are a proud British manufacturer committed to designing and delivering sustainable glazed partition systems that fully align with the principles of the circular economy. Every aspect of our product lifecycle from material sourcing and system design to installation and end-of-life management is designed with environmental responsibility and long-term value in mind.

Fabrication and assembly are carried out on site to reduce transportation emissions. We do so via efficient and consolidated logistics, ensuring minimal environmental impact. This balance of local manufacturing and responsible sourcing supports both quality and sustainability.

Designed for Disassembly & Reuse

Our systems are designed for easy disassembly, enabling components to be removed, relocated, reused, or repurposed with minimal waste. This ensures flexibility for changing environments and reduces the environmental impact of refurbishment or deconstruction.

Relocatable, Reconfigurable, Circular

SioSystems partitions are fully relocatable, supporting circular building strategies where materials remain in use for longer, reducing the demand for new materials and supporting sustainable interior designand fit-out.

Take-Back Scheme and Landfill Reduction

Working with our suppliers, we operate a dedicated take-back scheme for used components, ensuring they are either refurbished for reuse or recycled responsibly. This directly reduces landfill waste and supports a closed-loop system, consistent with our commitment to zero landfill operations wherever possible.

Environmental ProductDeclarations (EPDs)

Where available, our products and core materials are supported by EPDs, providing verified data on environmental impacts, including Global Warming Potential (GWP) and embodied carbon essential for BREEAM, LEED, SKA, and WELL certifications.

Low-carbon Glass

Our glass components are manufactured using cullet glass recovered from preconsumer and post-consumer end-of-life windows and façades. Low embodied carbon glass with higher levels of recycled content is also available.

Low-carbon Aluminium

Our aluminium profiles are manufactured using recycled billets containing between 67% and 100% post-consumer scrap. This scrap comes from aluminium products such as windows, doors, façades, and balustrades that have reached the end of their useful life and are repurposed into raw materials.

Social Value & Responsible Procurement

SioSystems champions social value by supporting local employment, charities, and responsible procurement practices.

As part of the Waverley Group, we understand the importance of taking responsibility for the effect we have on the environment, especially when it comes to our carbon footprint. We pride ourselves on being an ethical company with family values and, as such, we have signed up to the SME Climate Commitment. This means we will diligently work towards halving our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. We will disclose our progress each year as part of the scheme.

We have embarked on a number of initiatives, across all departments and involving all employees, which will help us hit the targets set out in the SME Climate Commitment. These include auditing all our products and suppliers to obtain detailed information on their sustainability measures and credentials to ensure we're manufacturing and specifying the most environmentally friendly solutions. We have also undertaken a review of all our premises to see where we can reduce our carbon emissions and instigated updated energy-efficient processes and procedures. There are many other sustainability projects underway.

As part of our dedication to the cause we are working with external sustainability specialists to maximise our sustainability efforts and ensure we're doing all we can to make a positive climate change impact.

If you have any questions or seek clarifications on our sustainability credentials, please contact us at info@siosystems.com.
