B60 Southampton University

Though the project is located next to our work completed at Southampton University in 2023, which you can read about here, B60 Southampton required completely different systems.

Working with LST Projects, our team designed, manufactured and installed our Silence 50D partitions with Fulcra door systems, providing an acoustic level of 47dB RW, alongside E130 fire-rated screens and windows, and E30 fire-rated doors.

Furthermore, a handful of our Fulcra doors required overhead closers and floor bearing pivots, which are a slightly different design function to the usual specification.

Project Overview

As part of an upgrade to facilities at the University of Southampton, SioSystems was appointed to deliver a package of high-performance internal glazing and doors to meet the university’s evolving space and safety needs.

The specification required acoustic performance, fire safety compliance, and sleek, modern aesthetics all within a live, operational environment. Our scope included:

• Silence50 acoustic glazed partitions
• Single glazed Fulcra framed glass doors
• 60 minute fire rated glazed screens and doors

All elements were delivered and installed to a high standard, with minimal disruption to day to day university operations.
